Structured line illumination Raman microscopy
In the last couple of decades, the spatial resolution in optical microscopy has increased to unprecedented levels by exploiting the fluorescence properties of the probe. At about the same time, Raman imaging techniques have emerged as a way to image inherent chemical information in a sample without using fluorescent probes. However, in many applications, the achievable resolution is limited to ...
متن کاملMulticolor stimulated Raman scattering microscopy
Stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) microscopy has opened up a wide range of biochemical imaging applications by probing a particular Raman-active molecule vibrational mode in the specimen. However, the original implementation with picosecond pulse excitation can only realize rapid chemical mapping with a single Raman band. Here we present a novel SRS microscopic technique using a grating-based p...
متن کاملChemical identity testing by remote-based dispersive Raman spectroscopy.
The advent of robust, rugged, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) compliant hand-held Raman spectrometers provides a wealth of opportunities for the analytical pharmaceutical chemist to bring the laboratory to the sample. This paper discusses the use of hand-held Raman spectrometers for the development of qualitative chemical identification methods for a number of well-known pharmac...
متن کاملIntegrated Raman- and angular-scattering microscopy.
A microscopy system has been constructed that is capable of simultaneously acquiring both traditional Raman spectra as well as angle-resolved elastic-scattering patterns using a single focused laser spot less than 10 mum wide. The elastic-scattering signal was analyzed by generalized Lorenz-Mie theory, representing what we believe to be the first experimental validation of the theory's predicti...
متن کاملPolarization coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering microscopy.
We report polarization coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (P-CARS) microscopy that allows vibrational imaging with high sensitivity and spectral selectivity. The nonresonant background signals from both Raman scatterers and the solvent are efficiently suppressed in P-CARS microscopy. We demonstrate P-CARS imaging of unstained cells based on the contrast of the protein amide I band.
